Salary: £35,000 - 55,000 per year Requirements:
* We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of geospatial data formats (such as GeoJSON, GML, and Shapefiles), coordinate systems, and spatial databases. Experience with GIS platforms, including ArcGIS or QGIS, along with proficiency in geospatial data validation tools is essential. You should be able to interpret technical specifications and translate them into actionable rules. Familiarity with asset management systems and infrastructure data (utilities, transport, telecom) is a plus. Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills are required.
* Desirable qualifications include a degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Data Science, or a related field. Experience with scripting languages such as Python or SQL for geospatial data processing would also be beneficial.
Responsibilities:
* As a Geospatial Data Analyst, you will review and interpret geospatial data specifications, schemas, and metadata. Your responsibilities will include identifying and extracting rules governing asset location editing, determining spatial accuracy, attribute constraints, and topology requirements. You will collaborate with GIS developers, data stewards, and asset managers to validate and refine editing rules. Documenting these editing rules in a structured format for integration into data validation tools or editing workflows will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will support the development of rule-based automation for asset data quality assurance and provide insights and recommendations to improve geospatial data governance and asset data lifecycle management.
