Are you passionate about making a difference in a young person’s life? Do you have experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Prospero Teaching are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive Mentor to support a Year 5 pupil in the Farnborough area.
As a Mentor, you will:
This young person is currently on a partial timetable and requires tailored support to help them thrive. The Mentor will play a key role in:
1. Building self-esteem and confidence
2. Engaging in light learning activities
3. Fostering positive adult relationships
4. Providing emotional support and encouragement
5. Supporting emotional regulation and social skills
6. Encouraging participation in learning tasks
7. Liaising with school staff and other professionals as needed
About you:
8. Experienced in working with children with SEMH needs
9. Calm, nurturing, and resilient
10. Able to build trust and rapport with young people
11. Creative in engaging children in learning and play
12. Reliable and committed to consistent support
About you:
13. Have at least 1 year of experience working within UK schools
14. Are confident in planning and delivering creative, learner-centred sessions
15. Employs a nurturing, adaptable, and student-centred approach

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
16. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people Trauma informed- desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
17. Hold right to work in the UK
18. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
19. Provide references upon request
20. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
