Salary: GBP40000 - GBP50000 per annum
A growing Accountancy Practice is looking to appoint a Client Manager into their St Helens office.
This is an excellent opportunity where you’ll work closely with a broad portfolio of SME clients, managing relationships while producing high-quality accounts and tax work, with the opportunity to mentor junior staff and genuinely add value to clients.

Responsibilities
* Prepare year‑end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
* Produce corporation tax computations and returns for review by senior leadership
* Prepare deferred tax calculations and tax reconciliations
* Complete VAT returns and support clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
* Prepare periodic management accounts and management information reporting
* Ensure statutory accounts and corporation tax returns are submitted within Companies House and HMRC deadlines
* Act as a key point of contact for client queries via phone, email, and face‑to‑face meetings
* Manage your own portfolio of clients with oversight from senior leadership
* Review work prepared by junior staff and support with training and development where required
Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or Qualified By Experience (QBE)
* Minimum 5 years’ experience within accountancy practice (or 8+ years for QBE applicants)
* Able to prepare a high-quality final set of accounts for Partner review
* Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and business tax matters
* Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts
* Genuine client ownership and autonomy within the role
