Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Science Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Hartlepool on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative Science lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
2. Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour
3. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
4. Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
5. Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
6. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
7. Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
8. Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience
About the School:
9. The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Hartlepool.
10. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism
Pay, Hours and Contract:
11. Pay – Between £130-180 per day
12. Hours –
13. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract.
14. Start Date – ASAP.
15. Location – Hartlepool
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
16. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
17. QTS and Science Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
18. Strong Behaviour Management skills
19. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
20. Strong KS3-KS5 Science Subject Knowledge
21. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
22. A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
23. Experience of Science Teaching within the UK
24. A genuine passion for Teaching
25. Strong organisation and communication skills
