Job Description
We are recruiting a Purchasing Manager to join a global food ingredients manufacturer, part of a large international group supplying essential products to the bakery and food production sectors worldwide.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving procurement performance, delivering cost savings, and ensuring supply continuity across multiple spend categories including ingredients, packaging, equipment, and services.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver the annual purchasing strategy aligned to group objectives
* Identify and implement cost-saving and value improvement initiatives
* Negotiate and manage supplier agreements to ensure quality, continuity, and value
* Monitor commodity markets and manage supply risk
* Lead and develop the purchasing team
* Drive procurement best practice, compliance, and e-procurement adoption
* Track and report on savings, supplier performance, and key KPIs
We’re looking for:
* Proven procurement experience within food, FMCG, or manufacturing
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation capability
* Experience managing suppliers across complex or commodity-driven categories
* Ability to influence stakeholders across operations, technical, and commercial teams
* CIPS qualification (desirable)
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000 + bonus + strong benefits.
