Housing Solutions Team Leader
Gateshead’s Housing Solutions Service is expanding and we’re looking for a new Team Leader to join our team and help shape and develop our domestic abuse homelessness pathway.
Our statutory homelessness service consists of our Housing Solutions Team and several homeless pathways for specific client groups, including for Domestic Abuse, Offenders, Mental Health, Hospital Discharge, Migration and Rough Sleepers. We also manage homeless temporary accommodation in Gateshead and work with external agencies to provide accommodation and support to people. We are looking to develop our service offer, and are looking for dynamic people to help us to do this.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Solutions Team Leader to join our brilliant team on a fixed term contract for two years, on full time basis.? The successful candidate will primarily help to shape and develop the domestic abuse pathway within the service with both internal and external partners in a multi-disciplinary approach.

About the role….
Reporting to the Housing Solutions Manager you will oversee the day-to-day management and supervision of the Housing Solutions teams to deliver homelessness prevention, homelessness advice, and temporary accommodation services in Gateshead.
Working alongside the Housing Solutions management team, this role will play a key part in leading, supporting, delivering and implementing our ambitious service plan which will support the transformation of homelessness services in Gateshead.
We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with a passion and commitment to support homeless households.? You will have a wealth of experience in assisting customers in a wide range of situations, a strong commitment to excellent customer care, equality, diversity and inclusion.?
The successful candidate must have knowledge of homelessness legislation and current housing and social care issues, with relevant experience of working in a homelessness or related field, and experience of managing staff.
Your interpersonal skills will be key, being an effective communicator to lead, manage and support your team, build and maintain key partnerships and deal with the public, including dealing with potentially difficult situations.
It is essential that you have a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.?
