1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Colchester
Location: Colchester, Essex
Position: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

About The Role
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Colchester. You will be working closely with a pupil who requires tailored support to access learning, manage emotions, and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs)
* Implement strategies set by the SENCO and external professionals
* Support the pupil’s learning across all subjects in the classroom
* Foster a positive, nurturing, and safe environment
* Monitor progress and contribute to regular reviews and meetings
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children with SEN (in a school or care setting)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A calm, patient, and positive approach
* The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
* A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning – desirable)
