Finance Officer

Come and join our dynamic and innovative Finance Consultancy team.Our team provides a range of financial support to a number of Integrated CareBoards across England, so we will need you to be flexible, adaptable and tobalance your workload. We work on varying contracts and projects across thehealth sector, making a difference to patients across England. This is a greatdevelopment role and as a team we support our staff to gain their professionalqualifications if individuals wish to progress.

Successful candidatesmay work from a mixture of locations including home, NECS offices and customerlocations.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibility for supporting senior colleagues, under guidance, inproviding a comprehensive service to the directorate, internal stakeholders andexternal clients.

Job responsibilities
Operational
Provide the Finance Team with transactionalfinance services to allow the production and delivery of specific financialreporting requirements, ensuring all aspects of financial management andcontrol are maintained at a high level.
Provide administrative andclerical support to the team where required.
Contact internal stakeholders and externalclients to resolve queries.
Ensure all financial information provided istimely, accurate and relevant and is produced in accordance with the relevantreporting timetable.
Communications
Provide and receive routine information, whichmay be sensitive or may requiring tact or persuasive skills to managers,including non-financial managers.
Discuss routine financial queries withinternal stakeholders and external clients, which are often complex andsensitive.
Display good verbal and written communicationskills to convey routine financial issues, to support decisions to the subjectin hand.
Support with external audit and internal auditto resolve the majority of issues at the earliest stage.
Analytical
Analyse financial data toidentify errors and resolve problems from a range of options.
Assist in the investigation, analysis andreporting of budget variances in order to highlight any significant financialissues to key stakeholders and clients.
Analyse, investigate and support a resolutionof complex financial queries and discrepancies.
Support with making suggestions regarding theallocation of finances, financial decisions and financial risk.
Planning
Plan and organise own dailyworkload to ensure all timetables/deadlines are met.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Minimum 5 GCSEs grade A-C or 5 to 9 including Maths and English or equivalent.
* Qualified or working towards AAT Level 3 or equivalent experience or qualifications.
Experience
* Experience and knowledge of a range of finance areas (finance computer systems, coding structures, accounting and account reconciliations).
* Good knowledge of computer software packages Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Understanding of basic accounting terminology and theory.
* Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information and internal and external stakeholders effectively to resolve basic queries.
* Some knowledge of accounting legislation
* Some knowledge of NHS finance and NHS issues
