Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Homelessness Officer for a Local Authority Client in Macclesfield.
In this role you will assess and prevent homelessness by working with vulnerable households to deliver legally sound decisions and secure safe, sustainable housing solutions.
Duties:
* Assess and make decisions on homelessness applications in line with legislation.
* Prevent homelessness through mediation, advice, and partnership working.
* Support households to access temporary and permanent accommodation.
* Provide basic debt and welfare benefits guidance to mitigate housing risks.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Experience assessing homelessness cases under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996.
* Experience working with vulnerable or high-risk clients in stressful situations.
* Experience providing advice on housing, welfare benefits, or debt.
* Experience liaising with statutory, voluntary, and private sector partners.
What's on offer:
Salary: £20ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
