We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join one of the world's leading medical gas pipeline turnkey providers.
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering professional and prompt service to all Medical Gas Solutions customers, working on various types and manufacturers of Medical Gas equipment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Work as part of a regional service team, with occasional work outside the area
* Provide 24/7 emergency call cover on a rota basis
* Complete scheduled Planned Preventive Maintenance at hospital sites with active contracts
* Coordinate with the service office and customers to plan daily and weekly visits
* Work independently, using your initiative to complete tasks
* Identify additional work opportunities, such as manufacturer recommendations and report writing
* Identify additional works like manifold and plant installations, and prepare short form tenders (quotations)
* Manage stock, administration, timesheets, parts orders, quotations, and expenses
* Commission new systems as required
* Follow Health and Safety regulations during daily tasks
* Maintain test instruments in good condition
* Apply high standards of engineering practice consistently
* Attend training to develop relevant skills and knowledge
* Ensure company vehicle is maintained and service dates are adhered to
Skills & Experience
* Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with City & Guilds qualification, minimum Parts 1 & 2
* Knowledge of compressors and vacuum pumps, preferably with field service experience
* Self-motivated with a focus on high quality
* Reliable, confident, and able to work independently
* Excellent communication skills, empathetic and team-oriented
* Logical reasoning skills for evaluating options and making decisions
* Customer-focused, with the ability to meet customer expectations
* Maintain high ethical and social standards in all activities
* ONC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
* Experience working in hospital environments
* Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems
* Understanding of medical gas systems or pressure directive
* Experience in pipework and machinery installation
