Copello are working with a leading defence organisation who are seeking a Cloud Engineering Lead to provide technical oversight across secure cloud platforms supporting complex, mission‑critical defence programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and mentor cloud engineers, providing technical direction across platform and infrastructure teams.
* Shape the architecture and design of secure cloud solutions aligned to programme requirements.
* Drive adoption of cloud-native technologies, DevSecOps and CI/CD practices.
* Ensure security, compliance and governance standards are maintained across cloud environments.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams and contribute to technical design and programme delivery.
Experience Required
* Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud architecture (certifications desirable).
* Background in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines and cloud‑native environments.
* Experience with containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker or OpenShift.
* Good understanding of cloud security, governance and highly regulated environments.
* Ability to lead technical teams within complex engineering programmes.
Desirable
experience within defence, national security or other regulated sectors, plus scripting/automation skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) would be advantageous.
