Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) Contract – Initial 6 Months Safran | Burnley, Lancashire Morson are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer (electrical bias) to join the reliability maintenance engineering team at Safran in Burnley. This is an initial 6-month contract supporting a complex, safety-critical aerospace manufacturing environment. The Role Working as part of a site-based reliability team, you will support onsite production by delivering both planned preventive maintenance and reactive breakdown support across a range of manufacturing equipment. You will be expected to work proactively, using structured fault-finding techniques to resolve issues safely and effectively, while also identifying opportunities to reduce repeat failures and improve overall equipment reliability. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance activities Responding to machine breakdowns and applying safe fault-finding and repair techniques Proactively identifying root causes and proposing reliability improvements Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance function Reporting findings in a clear, structured, and professional manner to the customer Desirable Experience Experience in some or all of the following would be advantageous: CNC machines Automation and control systems Heat treatment equipment Pneumatic and hydraulic systems Pressure vessels Compressors and vacuum pumps Electrical schematics and drawings PLC I/O fault diagnostics Candidate Skills & Requirements Time-served apprenticeship in a maintenance engineering discipline Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematic drawings Electrical or mechanical bias, with a good all-round skillset Comfortable working within a regulated manufacturing environment Additional / Beneficial Qualifications IPAF certification FLT licence Whats on Offer Initial 6-month contract Technically varied role within a reliability-driven maintenance team Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience
