Job details
Barrs Court School, part of Accordia Academies Trust, is a welcoming and forward-thinking special school for pupils aged 11–19 with a wide range of complex additional learning needs, including autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties.
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Class Teacher to join our dedicated team. You will teach a small class of learners, delivering creative, inclusive lessons as part of our Entitlement Curriculum. Working with a team of Teaching Assistants, you will nurture independence, communication, and confidence, helping every pupil to achieve their potential.
Applicants should hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and demonstrate a passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs. Experience in special education or training such as Trauma-Informed Practice, PECS, Makaton, or Thrive would be an advantage but is not essential. We welcome applications from teachers in both mainstream and specialist settings.
At Barrs Court, you’ll join a caring, collaborative community that values professional growth, wellbeing, and innovation. We offer excellent facilities, supportive leadership, and opportunities for professional development through Accordia Academies Trust.
If you would like an informal conversation about the role, please contact Barrs Court School to arrange a discussion with Headteacher, Mr Callum J Palmer.
Barrs Court School and Accordia Academies Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will require an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
