Role Overview
We have a rewarding opportunity for an experienced solicitor to join our busy Legal Team. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal and provide legal advice and support to the business at all levels across a broad range of sectors. The Legal Team’s objective is to be a trusted advisor to the business and we are looking for a professional who values teamwork and can provide strong, pragmatic legal advice in a timely manner, taking into account Frazer-Nash (a KBR company) commercial considerations.
The Legal Team advises on projects spanning Defence and Energy. Your role will involve reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements, preparing precedent documents, and providing legal support for internal projects. We are particularly interested in candidates with extensive experience advising on energy sector matters and/or intellectual property, and experience in an in‑house team is beneficial.
Essential Requirements
* A qualified solicitor with at least 5 years PQE in private practice or in‑house.
* Experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as supply terms, framework agreements, memoranda of understanding, joint venture agreements and sub‑contracts.
* Ability to provide training and guidance to team members and the business on relevant legal developments.
* Very good written and oral communication and ability to interact easily with project teams, senior management and external parties.
* Strong ability to work to challenging timeframes and under pressure.
* Ability to work well independently, with strong interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in a collaborative team environment.
* Experience supporting the training and development of junior team members.
Beneficial Requirements
* Skilled in advising on intellectual property issues, strategic IP guidance, patent applications and MOD IP DEFCONs.
* Experience advising on contracts within the energy and/or defence sectors.
* Experience advising on Government Framework Agreements, NEC contracts and MOD DEFCONs.
* Experience advising on IR35/Off‑Payroll Working rules.
* Experience advising on software development agreements.
* Experience advising on legal aspects of developing and supplying products.
Security Clearance: Candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and must meet UK National Security Vetting clearance criteria.
