EHS Process Manager (FAR) in GAC Farnborough
Provide full time environmental health and safety support to the business and ensure that all practices are in compliance with the Company and UK regulatory requirements. Support the development and coordination of ISO 14001 Environmental and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Education and Experience Requirements
Occupational health and safety and environmental degree or equivalent degree of experience supported by specific training. NEBOSH Certificate. Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Windows and Office, Word and Excel. Extensive experience in EHS, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and Environmental, Health and Safety legislation.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of Environmental, Health and Safety management systems.
2. Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach. Advise line management of health, safety and environmental matters and manage this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.
3. Responsible for assisting in the identification of environmental aspects and safety hazards, risk assessments and developing and implementing effective control measures to manage the risks.
4. Facilitate all forms of risk assessment e.g. general, manual handling, COSHH, fire prevention and act as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others on site.
5. Maintain and update SOPs for all safe work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day to day training.
6. Facilitate training on Environmental, Health and Safety topics and improvement processes, by conducting employee orientations, emergency response training and coordination of risk specific training programs.
7. Provide advice, assist, and audit the operations to ensure that effective EHS is implemented and working.
8. Develop an EHS Communication Strategy for all levels of staff, to include written information, toolbox talks and management briefs.
9. Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected.
10. Coordinate with the site and corporate leadership on EHS related activities. Advises line management in health, safety and environmental matters and manages this process to ensure all advice is incorporated into day to day processes and operations.
11. Maintain all records and documentation associated with the EHS Management System and regulatory requirements.
12. Assist with maintaining the Business Continuity and Emergency Response Plans & Procedures.
13. Review accidents and incidents which occur in the area of responsibility and manage internal audits, reporting and managing the corrective/preventive actions.
14. Conduct occupational health and safety related surveys.
15. Produce and coordinate the yearly EHS action plan and longer term EHS roadmap.
16. Monitors the Site 'permit-to-work' and 'control of contractors' systems to ensure compliance with Company standards and regulatory requirements.
Additional Functions:
1. Travel domestically and/or internationally as required.
Other Requirements:
1. Must be capable of lifting up to 22.5 kg.
