This is a 24-month fixed-term contract based in Woking, offering the opportunity to play a key role in embedding a proactive HS&E culture across multiple sites.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of HS&E, you will take on a pivotal operational role, working both independently and collaboratively to drive health, safety, and environmental best practice across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Developing, implementing, and maintaining Safe Systems of Work
2. Leading and supporting HS&E risk assessments across all sites
3. Providing coaching and guidance on operational HS&E matters to reduce risk
4. Maintaining regulatory permits and coordinating statutory inspections
5. Ensuring accurate HS&E record-keeping andpliance documentation
6. Supporting emergency planning and preparedness activities
7. Reviewing and enhancing HS&E policies and procedures
8. Producing clear and insightful HS&E performance reports
9. Leading or supporting incident and accident investigations
10. Conducting workplace inspections and behavioural safety assessments
11. Delivering training, inductions, and toolbox talks
12. Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture
13. Supporting wellbeing initiatives and psychologically safe working practices
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have:
14. Proven HS&E experience in an industrial or process-driven environment
15. A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification (or working towards)
16. Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation
17. Experience with ISO standards ( ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and environmental permitting
18. Experience conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
19. Familiarity with digital HS&E systems and reporting tools
20. Strong stakeholder engagement andmunication skills
21. The ability to influence, coach, and build relationships across teams
Desirable:
22. Experience with integrated management systems
23. Exposure to ESG or sustainability initiatives
24. Knowledge of SAP and/or Power BI
25. A relevant degree
