Manager - supply chain

Bristol (City of Bristol)
Squarcle Consulting
Manager
£60,000 - £100,000 a year
Posted: 2 October
Offer description

Your part in our mission

Use your expertise to serve something bigger. You'll help transform the systems that keep the UK safe. You'll work on high-impact projects that reimagine supply chains, modernise logistics, and drive innovation across critical programmes. It's complex, meaningful work with real world consequences. If you're motivated by public purpose, driven to solve tough challenges, and want your ideas to shape the future - this is where you can make that happen.

Our structure

At Squarcle, we work in a matrix structure designed to support your growth and success. You'll have a Performance Manager to guide your career development, an Engagement Manager to support your day-to-day project work, and a Capability Lead to ensure best practice across tools, people, and processes. This role sits

within our Supply Chain

capability, where you'll work closely with Matt, our Supply Chain Capability Lead. Your Performance Manager and project assignment will be confirmed once your first engagement is agreed.

This is what you'll be doing

As a Supply Chain leader

you'll be joining us as we build depth

across our capabilities and enhance our delivery excellence. This means there's room for people to shape how we grow, not just keep up with it. Some of your key day to day activities will include:

* Support and coach junior team members, helping them grow and progress in their Squarcle careers

* Run workshops, map current processes, analyse data, and design smarter, future-ready supply chain models

* Lead consulting engagements end-to-end, ensuring projects are delivered smoothly, on time, and with measurable impact

* Collaborate with programme managers, analysts, and subject matter experts to solve complex, data-driven challenges

* Drive business growth by building strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to bids

We'll continue develop and measure your success in the following areas

Each engagement will have a set of deliverables which you will be responsible for. We'll measure your success in the following areas:

* You'll know you're succeeding when clients trust you, come back for more, and feel real impact from the work you've delivered

* Success means running projects smoothly - on time, on brief, and to a high standard that reflects well on everyone involved

* You'll play a part in strengthening our internal community - sharing ideas, supporting colleagues, and helping us all get better

* We'll value your ability to turn complex challenges into outcomes that matter - for both our clients and the future of our consultancy

Where you'll be stretched (and thrive):

* Lead with impact: Take ownership of consulting engagements, guiding teams and clients from planning through delivery to achieve outcomes that matter.

* Drive growth and influence:

Identify new business opportunities, develop client relationships, contribute to bids, and help shape the consultancy's direction.

* Shape and inspire teams: Mentor and develop colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture where people can grow and thrive.

We think you'll love:

* Making a visible difference: Your work will turn insights into real-world outcomes for clients and the consultancy alike.

* Working with senior stakeholders:

You'll offer strategic advice, influence programme direction, and have a voice in key decisions.

* Being part of a close-knit team: In our small consultancy, your ideas will be heard, valued, and help shape how we grow and deliver.

This isn't just another consulting role. It's a chance to be part of something growing, ambitious, and meaningful.

The skills you'll need to succeed in this role

* Proven consulting expertise: Experience delivering supply chain and operations projects and managing complex, multi-stakeholder environments

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to tackle challenges creatively, interpret data, and produce actionable results

* Exceptional communication and influence: Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and working across multi-disciplinary teams

* Client-focused mindset: Deliver outstanding client service and contribute positively to team outcomes

* Technical proficiency: Skilled with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other core tools, with a quick aptitude for new systems

* Flexibility and commitment: Willing to travel to client sites where required

How we'll assess your skills

Our interview process for this role will involve three steps:

Step 1: Meet with our Recruitment Manager, Corina. She'll introduce you to Squarcle, the role, and answer any questions you may have about us. We'll be assessing some basic skills for the role and finding out more about your background.

Step 2:

Meet with members of our Supply Chain capability. They'll ask you questions related to your consulting, leadership, and supply chain knowledge. We will confirm who you're meeting with when you get to this stage.

Step 3: Meet with two of our senior leadership team. You'll be given a task the night before this interview to present back to us, the team will then ask questions related to your presentation. We will confirm who you're meeting with when you get to this stage.

Remember, interviews are a two-way street. While we're getting to know your fit for the role, take the time to ask questions too - so you can see if we're the right place for the next step in your career.

We believe great work deserves great rewards. Here's what you can expect as part of the team:

* Generous leave package

*
o 26 days of annual leave (including your birthday) plus UK bank holidays — increasing to 27 days after three years, and 28 after seven years
