About the role
We have a new opportunity at our Kemsley Paper Mill for a Drives and Automation Engineer to join and contribute to a high-performing team. Working with your team, project teams, area managers, and external contractors, you’ll be responsible for the coordination and management of a successful drive maintenance program and support the technical development of your area.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring all asset, parts and maintenance schedules are created and facilitated utilising the engineering asset management tools.
* Coordinating and managing the motor store and ensuring spares are effectively maintained
* Developing and managing various training programs (BS13849, software training, etc)
* Ensuring VSD drives and programmable smart motor control center devices (Simocode) software and parameters are recorded, stored and available.
* Managing asset database, obsolescence and improvement plan
* Working with the various asset teams to ensure that obsolete equipment is replaced
* Creating an asset performance monitoring system as part of the Industry 4.0 initiative
* Developing and participating in upgrade projects
* Ensuring systems and safety files are maintained, change control is in place, and that records are available for auditing
* Working with the project team on strategic safety development
Note: This role is part of a engineering callout rota, you will be on call 1 week out of every 7 with the expectation that you’ll provide support, escalate and facilitate engineering events that effect production of the site.
About you
* Experience in Drive Control and Automation systems
* Understanding of principles of AC and DC drives
* Electrical or multi-skilled engineering background,
* A recognised Electrical Engineering qualification
* Driven and self-motivated, always looking for improvements in the way we do things
* Accountable and wanting to take full ownership over your area of expertise
* Be able to identify the root cause of problems by logical problem solving and using industry standard tools and approach
