Our client is a Hi-Value Shipper offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Import Operative to join their growing team based in Sunbury TW16. This is a trainee role providing training across various import-related tasks, ideal for someone proactive with a desire to learn and grow within the company.
Purpose Of The Role
The Junior Import Operative supports the import team by managing documentation, customs clearance, and client coordination, while learning all aspects of import operations to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of goods.
Main Responsibilities
* Apply for import cites permits.
* Monitor pre-alerts from foreign agents & raise import files.
* Create records in the ERTS system for clearance.
* Handle files from start to finish.
* Ensure all relevant & legal documentation is in place for customs clearance.
* Complete customs entries according to client instructions.
* Ensure client files are complete with release information before delivery.
* Support management to meet client needs.
* Represent the company with high levels of customer service and professionalism.
* Undertake additional duties or assist other staff as reasonably requested.
Essential Skills
* Ability to prioritize and organize workload to tight deadlines.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Team player, able to work within the Imports team and with other departments.
Knowledge
* Data management and accurate record keeping.
* Intermediate IT skills, including MS Word & Excel.
* Collaborative team spirit across departments.

* Proactive in anticipating needs and seeking improvements.
* Follow company policies and procedures.
Desirable
* Full clean UK driving license.
* Knowledge of the local area & London.

* Salary: £24,258 per annum for a 37.5-hour week.
