The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for a committed and resilient SEN Teacher with QTS to join a highly supportive specialist setting i n Somerset from September. This is a full-time, permanent position working with pupils aged 11–14, with opportunities to support across secondary provision. About the School This well-established specialist school is recognised for its nurturing and inclusive approach. They support pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, trauma-related behaviours, and those who have experienced exclusion from mainstream education. The school places a strong emphasis on building positive relationships, emotional development, and re-engagement with learning, supported by a dedicated and collaborative staff team. The Role You will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils, many of whom require additional emotional and behavioural support. The role involves creating a safe, structured classroom environment, supporting students to regulate their emotions, and working closely with support staff to ensure consistent and effective strategies are in place. Requirements Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a minimum of 6 months’ childcare or education experience, ideally supporting children with SEN. A calm, patient, and adaptable approach is essential, along with strong behaviour management skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
