Bull Stud Worker - Cumbria - £25,000 - £35,000
The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Bull Stud Worker to join a specialist cattle genetics operation in Cumbria. This is a hands on role working with high quality beef and dairy bulls, supporting the day to day running of the stud alongside semen collection activities. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of animal welfare, biosecurity and overall site operations.
This position would suit someone from a beef or dairy background looking to develop their career within the genetics sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily feeding and care of bulls
- Bedding and maintaining clean, safe housing
- Safe handling of mature bulls
- Assisting with semen collection procedures
- Monitoring animal health and welfare
- Maintaining strict biosecurity and hygiene standards
- General yard and livestock duties as required
The Candidate:
- Experience working with cattle or livestock (preferred)
- Strong stockpersonship and awareness of animal welfare
- Confident handling livestock, including mature bulls
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Practical, reliable, and hardworking approach
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Interest in cattle genetics or breeding (advantageous)
The Package:
- Salary £28,000 - £35,000 DOE

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
