We are currently recruiting for Children's Manager positions with a competitive salary range of £47,500 - £55,000 per annum. Please note that this salary is applicable to candidates who are registered and qualified as managers. Applicants who are successful but are not yet registered or qualified will initially be offered a lower salary until their registration and qualifications are completed.

What will I do as the Registered Manager?

* Responsible for all aspects of staff recruitment, effective deployment of staff/bank and agency workers across the service, referrals, admissions and care practice.
* Ensure the service delivers high-quality care and can provide quantitative and qualitative data to evidence outcomes for the young people.
* Guarantee the service meets and complies with all regulatory and statutory requirements; deliver the service to meet and, where possible, exceed contractual standards of placing authorities.
* Directly line manage the team with delegated responsibility to the Home’s senior management team.
* Establish efficient administrative and electronic systems for recording and reporting to comply with Salutem and Ofsted reporting standards.
* Support the service to operate within budget and strive for high Ofsted ratings, supporting continuous business improvement.
* With Regional Director support, contribute to forward vision, strategic planning and development of a pipeline of continuous business; build and maintain a sound home reputation.
* Audit the quality of care provision against national standards, Ofsted and local authority consortia, working with the Regional Director and the Director of Quality and Compliance.
* Ensure a child-centred environment with detailed assessments, care plans, risk assessments and activity programmes to meet each young person’s needs; monitor and review regularly.
* Lead and develop staff, ensuring regular meetings and effective integration of care and education practices; promote effective communication and a strong team approach.
* Develop and maintain partnerships with referring authorities, LADO, Ofsted inspectors and other professionals to maintain high standards and secure placements.
* Deliver services within occupancy and budget targets; lead annual business planning and budgeting in concert with the team and Regional Director.
* Promote health and safety compliance and ensure systems meet company and regulatory obligations.
* Implement performance management processes to induct, supervise, appraise, and develop staff to deliver quality care.
* Manage budgetary and petty cash processes; ensure safe staffing levels and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
* Develop, implement and review the service development plan to meet objectives; promote the company’s vision and values.
* Lead staff health and wellbeing initiatives and provide mentorship to the senior team as a first-line manager.
* Ensure mandatory training compliance meets or exceeds national standards where possible; oversee training and development opportunities for staff.
* Investigate incidents, complaints or allegations per established procedures; represent management in disciplinary processes as required.
* Stay up to date with trends in childcare, legislation, research and best practice; disseminate learning to the team.
* Carry out duties in accordance with Salutem policies, health and safety, safeguarding and equal opportunities guidelines.


Requirements

You must have within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children; have at least 1 year in a role requiring supervision and management of staff in care; and by the relevant date attain the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or an equivalent qualification recognised by the registered provider.
