I am seeking a talented professional to join a growing Commercial Architecture team in Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of commercial projects and make a real impact within a collaborative and forward-thinking practice.
The Role
As an Architectural Technologist / Technician, you will be involved in delivering projects across retail, industrial, logistics, office, and educational sectors, working through all RIBA stages. You’ll be responsible for producing and managing technical drawings, coordinating with external consultants, and ensuring deadlines and project standards are consistently met.
This role requires someone with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to run projects independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and manage detailed technical drawings
* Communicate effectively with external consultants and stakeholders
* Ensure deadlines and project milestones are achieved
* Apply strong knowledge of planning systems and statutory processes
* Demonstrate expertise in building construction and Building Regulations
* Contribute design solutions and resolve technical detailing challenges
About You
* Qualified Architectural Technologist / Technician (Part 2 RIBA or CIAT)
* Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification practical experience
* Proven background in commercial architecture (retail, industrial, logistics, office, education)
* Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D modelling software (essential)
* Knowledge of NBS specifications, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, and presentation software (desirable)
* Strong portfolio showcasing both design skills and technical detailing
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as projects require
