Permanent vacancy - Business Development Manager with Refrigeration Industry background
Location - Based at home with visits to Head Office in Glasgow
Working days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Our client based in Glasgow is seeking an experienced BDM with a background in the Refrigeration retail sector. This experience is essential for the role. The candidate will cover the full product range and deal extensively with contractors, end users, specifiers, and system integrators.
You will report directly to the Head of Sales UK & EMEA and participate in meetings at the Glasgow Head Office, sales forecasting, and customer finance issues.
The Business Development Manager will manage key accounts, target new business sectors, and deliver client-focused solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining a sales pipeline through relationship building, account management, and lead generation.
Key Responsibilities
* Participate in new business pitches and onboard new clients.
* Develop and achieve sales through direct and indirect channels.
* Grow existing clients and generate new business opportunities.
* Act as the primary interface between customers and divisions.
* Engage with entities and departments of major retail chains.
* Identify and assess client needs and growth opportunities.
* Present proposals and attend client meetings.
* Forecast and monitor account metrics.
* Stay updated on market trends and competitors.
* Resolve client issues and communicate requirements internally.
* Conduct Business Reviews and manage customer data in CRM.
* Support financial dispute resolution and promote products/services.
* Define technical requirements and develop sales plans aligned with company policies.
* Collaborate with internal teams for effective operation.
* Monitor competitor activity and identify development needs.
Working hours and location: The role is home-based with travel to Glasgow and client sites. Candidates must plan their schedules accordingly.
