The Role
As our Secondary History Teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to teach the full history curriculum, guiding students from their first encounters with the subject in Year 7 right through to their GCSE examinations in Year 11. You will work with a diverse range of learners, from those who may require additional support to more gifted students, ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and effective history lessons across Years 7 to 11, covering the full curriculum.
* Differentiate teaching to support both struggling and gifted learners.
* Plan, prepare, and mark work in line with school policies and GCSE requirements.
* Inspire students by sharing your passion for history and fostering critical thinking and curiosity.
* Contribute to the development of the history department and collaborate with colleagues.
Qualifications
* Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
* A strong passion for history and the ability to convey this enthusiasm to students.
* Experience teaching secondary history, ideally with GCSE experience.
* Skilled in differentiating teaching to meet diverse learner needs.
* Excellent organizational skills, particularly in planning and marking.
* A commitment to supporting student progress and wellbeing.
