Position Overview
Our client is seeking an Area Sales Engineer to manage a territory including the West Midlands and Mid Wales, covering areas such as Coventry, Birmingham, Telford, Stoke on Trent, Dudley, Worcester, Hereford, Gloucester, Oxford, and Shropshire. The role is ideally based centrally within this territory.
Responsibilities
1. Manage and develop existing customer accounts and generate new business within the automation sector.
2. Sell the company's full portfolio of automation products through various channels including technical distributor partners, wholesale resellers, Panel Builders, Systems Integrators, OEMs, and End Users.
3. Target key sectors like Building, Infrastructure, Machinery, Energy, Process, Packaging, and Transportation.
4. Build and maintain relationships at all levels, motivating distributors and resellers.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have a solid technical background, such as ONC, HNC, or Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, with extensive experience in industrial automation and control markets. A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in roles like Area Sales Engineer, Field Sales, or Business Development within electrical control and automation sectors is preferred. The candidate must demonstrate strong technical sales skills, good organizational abilities, and the capacity to present and build relationships effectively.
Benefits and Salary
Salary circa GBP 50K - GBP 60K + OTE, with a high basic DOE, a quality car PMI, dental, life insurance, pension, and 25 days holiday.
