If you thrive in a busy environment and enjoy meeting a wide range of NHS Fife staff, we’d love to hear from you. The Education is the hub of medical training and education for NHS Fife, working with all levels from medical student to resident doctor to consultant, providing a warm and supportive learning environment. As our administrator, you will play a critical role in the effective running of our department. You will be the first point of contact for medical students and resident doctors on placement in the hospital, and also for technical support in the classrooms in the Education Centre. If you have good communication skills, time-management skills and technical skills, we want to hear from you. We expect you to deliver and promote good quality service to our Education Centre users and that they receive a professional, friendly welcome and have responses dealt with proficiently. Do you have: The ability to deliver written and verbal communication in a clear and concise manner? The flexibility to manage a combined role, providing admin/reception services to the department while also delivering secretarial services to our Senior Leadership Team – often to a tight deadline? Excellent computer skills in Microsoft 365 and can demonstrate a high level of accuracy in typing and data input? The confident to manage your own workload against the competing demands and distractions of a busy reception area? If so, we welcome informal enquiries and look forward to receiving your application. For informal enquiries, please contact Ann Sheach, Education Centre Manager, NHS Fife Medical Education Services Email: ann.sheach2@nhs.scot As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected. To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigrations Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland Boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status. To find out more about these routes of permission, please refer to the GOV.UK website here. It is ESSENTIAL that you have checked that you either already have an appropriate right to work in the UK or that the post would be eligible to be sponsored BEFORE submitting your application form. We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices. Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
