Are you a qualified and motivated pharmacy technician looking to make a real difference in mental health care? NHS Forth Valley is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join our specialist mental health pharmacy team, working across a range of services including inpatient and community mental health, older people’s mental health, learning disabilities and forensic psychiatry.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to person-centred pharmaceutical care across a diverse and rewarding range of mental health specialties. Based at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, you’ll be part of a supportive and well-integrated pharmacy team that plays a crucial role in patient safety and recovery. Ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
Pharmacy is highly respected within NHS Forth Valley’s mental health services. You will work alongside clinical pharmacists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to support safe and effective use of medicines, promote continuity of care, and provide direct support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
Your role will include supporting medicines reconciliation at admission and discharge, managing stock and supply systems for clinical areas, assisting with medication counselling, and helping ensure safe prescribing practices. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives and service development across mental health settings.
You’ll be supported to grow in your role, with access to training and professional development opportunities tailored to mental health pharmacy. Your work will be meaningful and valued.
We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council who brings a positive, organised, and collaborative approach. Previous experience in hospital or mental health settings is welcome, though not essential—we also welcome applications from community pharmacy technicians with a keen interest in mental health and a willingness to learn.
