Technical Lead Newcastle upon Tyne
A high-growth, Newcastle-based technology organisation created through a joint venture between global consulting and investment leaders is looking to hire a Technical Lead. This is a rare opportunity to join a newly established team, working on complex, high-impact initiatives in a fast-paced and intellectually stimulating environment.
This Technical Leadrole sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering and people leadership. Youll work closely with developers, stakeholders and end users to design and deliver high-quality software solutions at pace, while helping to shape culture, standards and ways of working from an early stage.
Key responsibilities:
* Lead and mentor a small team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and support
* Remain hands-on with development and take ownership of end-to-end delivery
* Engage directly with users and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver pragmatic solutions
* Collaborate closely with client teams to deliver shared outcomes
* Challenge existing systems and processes through innovation and technical excellence
* Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends
What theyre looking for:
* Strong programming experience in C#/.NET, Java, Rust or Python
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* A problem-solver with energy, ambition and an ownership mentality
* Experience delivering software projects from start to finish
* Interest in understanding business problems and building domain knowledge
* Financial Services experience is beneficial but not essential
* A minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
