In a nutshell
At Virgin Atlantic, our people are at the heart of everything we do – and no one makes our flights possible without the brilliance of our pilots and cabin crew. As Head of Crew Logistics, you'll lead the strategy and operation that ensures our crew are always in the right place, at the right time, ready to deliver exceptional journeys for our customers.
This is more than an operational role – it's about leading with empathy, inspiring teams, and creating trust in one of the most complex and critical areas of our business. With responsibility for a nine-figure P&L, you'll balance safety and compliance with commercial discipline, innovation, and care for the teams who bring our red spirit to life.
Day to day
* Lead the planning, rostering, and on-the-day crewing of pilots and cabin crew to deliver a safe, compliant, and efficient flying programme
* Develop and execute our Crew Logistics strategy, ensuring both short-term delivery and long-term establishment needs are met
* Partner with Cabin Crew Management, Flight Crew Management, and the Operations Control Centre to keep our operation resilient and responsive
* Align with training and recruitment teams to ensure accurate establishment planning, optimising crew size, mix, and readiness
* Oversee global hotel and transport provision for crew, ensuring quality, efficiency, and value for money
* Build strong, collaborative relationships with pilots, cabin crew, and their union representatives, fostering dialogue and trust
* Take accountability for a nine-figure P&L, ensuring efficiency, cost discipline, and value for money across all crew logistics operations
* Lead your teams with emotional intelligence – creating clarity in uncertainty, developing people, and maintaining engagement in a high-demand environment
* Drive continuous improvement, leveraging automation, AI, and smarter processes to enhance efficiency and crew experience
About you
We're looking for a leader with exceptional emotional intelligence – someone who thrives on people leadership, brings calm authority to complex situations, and inspires confidence across diverse and highly skilled teams.
You'll bring:
* Proven leadership experience in workforce planning, crew logistics, or other elements of complex operations
* A track record of managing large teams, in aviation, or other similar industries
* The ability to balance empathy with decisiveness – building trust, engaging and maintaining constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience of owning significant budgets or P&L responsibility
* Strong analytical skills, using data and insight to solve problems and drive sustainable improvement
* Strategic vision paired with the resilience and agility to deliver in a fast-paced, high-stakes operational context
* (Ideally) knowledge of crew resourcing regulations
