Job Opportunity: Market Manager (Fixed Term / Secondment)
Croydon Council is seeking a Market Manager for a 12-month fixed term or secondment opportunity. The role focuses on leading the development and management of the adult social care market within the borough, which has the largest regulated care market in London.
The key responsibilities include:
1. Working closely with local stakeholders such as the ICB, council departments, care providers, and partner organizations to understand service voids and vacancies.
2. Ensuring reporting tools are in place to monitor market vacancies at operational and strategic levels.
3. Fostering strategic relationships with providers and within the council's commissioning services.
4. Supporting micro-commissioning services that promote independence, recovery, rehabilitation, and reablement.
5. Incorporating national and local policies into care market development plans.
6. Leading on cost tools and negotiations at local and national levels.
7. Managing the council's annual inflation and care cost program.
8. Reviewing the care market to identify opportunities for value for money and promoting resident independence.
9. Integrating cost modeling tools into relevant services to ensure value for money and compliance with statutory requirements.
10. Training staff on relevant cost tools.
11. Developing reports on market share, costs, and provider spending to support commissioning strategies and negotiations.
12. Producing reports, recommendations, and implementation plans for senior management.
