The role
Please note: This is a fixed term position for 12 months (funding related). Working hours: 18 hours per week Interview Date: To be confirmed Ministry with children, youth and families, is one of the key mission areas of The Salvation Army. To support this, we are looking to recruit a Children, Youth and Families Mission Co-ordinator , to develop and deliver innovative spiritual ministry and programmes. This will include schools-based mentoring and support groups, activities run from our Salvation Army building, and partnership working with other local churches and organisations. You will use your previous relevant experience and up to date knowledge in developing community spiritual programmes to plan, design and deliver innovative activities that will both meet the needs of the community, as well as successfully supporting delivery of mission. To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate a Christian faith and a passion and vision for working amongst children and their families. You will also: Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to show compassion and understanding to all and build working relationships Be able and willing to lead and/or participate in worship, and provide pastoral care Be organised and able to prioritise effectively, using your experience of Microsoft Office to support you Have an awareness of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements in areas such as safeguarding, data protection, H&S This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian, actively involved with your own Church and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
