Availability Window
Days and times we are seeking availability for: Sun 07:30–22:30; Thu 07:30–17:30; Fri 07:30–17:30; Sat 07:30–18:30. We will schedule contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of exact shift dates. We are open to flexible patterns if the times match closely but not exactly what is advertised.
Overview
Our Customer Delivery Drivers play a key role in serving customers; this role involves more than driving, including delivering great service with a smile and engaging with customers in their homes as part of Tesco’s service mission.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the part of the customer shopping trip assigned to you, ensuring van and trays are clean, tidy and organised.
* Keep the back yard clean and clear of rubbish, and pick up litter as you see it.
* Ensure trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
* Load the van as required and check the van is roadworthy.
* Discuss any changes to customer orders (short code items, substitutions) and offer refunds if customers are unhappy.
* Treat products/deliveries as if they were your own and deliver during the customer’s time slot.
* Inform customers if you arrive early and contact the store if you are more than 30 minutes late.
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support when needed.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, saying thank you where appropriate.
* Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace store changes.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations while balancing home and work life.
* Share ideas with your Manager and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
* A valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
Qualifications and requirements
* Delivery experience and the ability to work within the defined availability window.
* Driving licence as noted above (full or automatic) with up to 3 penalty points, held for at least 12 months.
* Commitment to customer service and a willingness to engage with customers in a positive, helpful manner.
