School Site Caretaker - Secondary school We are currently working with welcoming and supportive schools seeking a reliable and proactive School Site Caretaker to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous caretaking, facilities, or site maintenance experience who takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment. About the role • Opening and securing school premises each day as required • Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs across the site • Ensuring school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained • Conducting routine health and safety checks and reporting issues promptly • Assisting with room setups for meetings, events, and school activities • Monitoring site security and managing access to the premises • Supporting contractors and ensuring work is carried out safely on site • Maintaining compliance with health and safety procedures About the school •Friendly and supportive school environment • Welcoming and collaborative staff team • Opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school • Strong leadership and supportive management structure • A varied and hands-on role within a busy school setting Person Specification • Previous caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or site management experience in a school is desirable • Basic maintenance and DIY skills • Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a workplace environment • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently • Strong problem-solving skills and practical approach • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
