Job Introduction Registration Officer Part time - 2 days per week Grade 6 - £28,598 - £31,022 pro rata Office based We are seeking an experienced Registration Officer to work on a part-time basis, working every Friday and Saturday. Attendance for ceremonies is required on some Sundays and Bank Holidays. There may be a need for you to work additional hours mid-week as and when required registering births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships and attesting notices of marriage/civil partnerships. Location: Various – Dudley Register Office (Priory Hall), Stourbridge Registration Office (Thomas Robinson Building), Approved Premises and Registered Buildings within the Borough The service is looking for an experienced Registration Officer to join the team. You will be required to register marriages and civil partnerships, officiate for ceremonies and to provide non-statutory services to include naming and renewal of vows ceremonies.You will be required to register births and deaths alongside taking notices of marriage and any other functions commensurate with the role. The service currently operates from two locations across the borough, and you will be required to work from both locations as well as attending marriages/civil partnerships at approved premises and registered buildings located within the Borough. The service provides a birth registration service at Family Hubs which you will be required to attend. You will have previous registration experience. A good standard of education is needed to include GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent, as a minimum. Working in a very busy environment you will need excellent customer care skills and a keen eye for accuracy and attention to detail. The service requires flexible team players who are able to adapt to different roles and tasks to meet the changing demands of the service and an ability to work at short notice.
