Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is recruiting Police Officers as part of the Policing Plus Graduate pathway, offering a nationally recognised foundation degree‑level qualification.
Policing Plus is a 2‑year programme focused on the role of being a Police Officer. The programme provides career development opportunities and supports you to unlock your potential, including:
* Fast‑track PC to Inspector Programme – an accelerated promotion pathway for high‑potential police constables who have completed their two‑year probationary period (via a competitive selection process)
* Potential Development Programme – a 12‑month programme providing a challenging development environment for those demonstrating high performance potential (via a competitive selection process)
* Career Mentor – helps define your career and development plan, advising and guiding you to gain experience, develop skills and achieve your full potential
What You’ll Do
As a Police Officer no two days are ever the same. You will be involved in:
* Respond to emergencies – attending incidents where your quick thinking and problem‑solving will make a difference
* Investigate crimes – arresting and interviewing suspects, collecting evidence, and working with victims and witnesses to achieve justice
* Engage with communities – building trust and maintaining relationships with diverse communities to identify and solve local issues
* Tackle new challenges – adapting to an ever‑changing criminal landscape, including cybercrime, fraud, and organised crime
Qualifications
Applicants must hold:
* A full manual or automatic driving licence
* A Bachelor's degree or overseas equivalent recognised by UK NARIC/UK ENIC (any subject); overseas qualifications must be supported by the original certificate and a statement of comparability. Applicants in their final year of study are eligible but must have final results before start
* Residency in the UK for three years immediately prior to application
* British or Commonwealth citizenship, an EC/EEA national, or a foreign national with unrestricted stay in the UK
* Not a member of the British National Party (BNP) or similar organisation, and no tattoos that could cause offence
