Job Title: Delivery Engineer – Site Inspector
Location: Horsham

Salary: From £32,900 - £46,300 (dependent on skills and experience)
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our Water Network Contract & Highways team as a Delivery Engineer – Site Inspector, especially as we head into AMP 8.

Your main purpose will be to proactively manage contract performance and compliance, overseeing repair and maintenance (R&M) processes for the Southern Water region and supporting functions.
You will liaise with customers, stakeholders, and business partners regarding R&M contracts, while mitigating reputational and financial risks for Southern Water.
Additional training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage contractor performance through Southern Water's reporting mechanisms (Ellipse, Waterworx, GEOMAPS).
* Act as the county focal point for R&M-related issues.
* Manage R&M defects, verify work orders, and process defect paperwork.
* Check and challenge work completion, especially for high-cost activities like burst mains, maintaining an auditable trail.
* Manage Early Warning Notices related to high-cost activities such as traffic management and large excavations.
Accountabilities
* Address R&M issues across Southern Water and advise on R&M specifications.
* Act as the point of contact within each area.
* Proactively manage contractor performance and compliance, ensuring standards are met and regulations adhered to.
* Oversee R&M processes for the region and support functions.
* Maintain effective communication with customers, stakeholders, and business partners regarding R&M contracts.
* Manage contractual risks to protect Southern Water’s reputation and finances.
Knowledge and Skills
* Understanding of Southern Water’s and industry standards.
* Commercial awareness and business expertise.
* Strong reporting and record-keeping skills, ensuring minimal financial liability.
* Ability to promote quality work, manage risks, and identify non-compliance trends.
Skills and Competencies
* Business acumen and IT literacy, familiar with Microsoft frameworks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Leadership and management capabilities, including handling difficult situations with external bodies and internal teams.
Experience and Qualifications
Operational experience in water industry preferred.
* Driving license
* Street works qualifications/license
* Good computer skills are advantageous
