Buildings
The Buildings practice supports clients worldwide to realise construction projects while maximizing sustainability and social value. It includes cost and project management services for central government, local authority, and private clients across workplace, residential, law and order, health, education, retail, sports and commercial property landscapes.
Overview Of The Role
Senior / Associate Project Manager – join our growing Buildings team based in London and Cardiff / Bristol. You’ll manage multiple projects through RIBA stages, acting as integrator of multidisciplinary teams across a diverse health portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Advise the client to define the strategic brief, including goals and objectives
* Support the client to establish and procure the project team
* Define project success factors, including time, cost, quality and environmental and social outcomes
* Define and agree project governance structure aligned to client and legislative requirements
* Produce a detailed project execution plan that outlines how the project will be managed
* Establish reporting requirements and produce progress reports
* Lead and act as an integrator of multidisciplinary services at all stages of the project life cycle
* Establish and manage the change control process
* Monitor and advise upon project performance against success indicators
* Implement performance‑management techniques, including KPI use to improve performance
* Establish a communication strategy and information‑management plan, implementing this across the project and managing interface between all parties and the client
* Team leadership – manage and mentor team members across multiple projects
* Manage commissions internally and collaborate with Account Leaders to position and win new work
* Manage commissions in accordance with the BMS process
* Oversee resourcing and commercial performance of commissions, managing risk and maximizing opportunities
* Capture project capability and evidence through case studies and client feedback
* Develop new business opportunities with clients, including cross‑selling solutions
* Manage bids through the WIN process
* Drive innovation to support efficiency and quality of service delivery
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Alignment with Mott MacDonald PRIDE values
* Relevant project management experience in the health sector as consultant or NHS / Health provider
* Knowledge of pre and post‑contract project management and contract management methodologies
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a larger team
* Being a MAPM / MRICS / MCIOB or equivalent Chartered Professional, and working toward ChPP / FRICS / FCIOB or equivalent
Desirable
* Relationship‑building skills – ability to build strong relationships with clients, teams and stakeholders and maintain networks of business contacts
* Ability to manage and lead teams for maximum performance
* Willingness to mentor and coach junior team members
* Excellent oral and written communication and organisational skills
* Soft skills: self‑motivation, initiative, leadership, adaptability, influence, persuasion, insightfulness
* Drive to innovate and implement best practice
* Working knowledge of delivery models and technical requirements for healthcare projects (e.g., HTM’s and HBN’s)
