About The Role
Sopra Steria are looking for a DV cleared highly experienced Senior SQL Server DBA to join the team and support on their critical database services across a complex, secure environment.
You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and cloud teams, playing a key role in maintaining their evolving SQL Server estate while driving automation and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Advanced administration of Microsoft SQL Server environments across multiple tiers
* Management of SQL Server Failover Clusters (WSFC)
* Management of DR environments and failover processes
* Support SQL Server workloads hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
* Plan and execute monthly SQL Server patching cycles
* Develop T-SQL and PowerShell scripts to automate tasks
Skills & Qualifications
* Current DV clearance
* Extensive experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments
* Strong expertise in SQL Server administration (2016+ preferred)
* High Availability (WSFC, Always On)
* Backup, recovery, and DR planning
* Experience with performance tuning and optimisation
* Experience working in controlled / secure environments
* Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
* Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk
* Exposure to automation and Infrastructure as Code principles
* Experience supporting ETL or data integration platforms
