We are seeking a passionate and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the hotel and ensure exceptional service delivery across all departments.

The role

As a small hotel with a close-knit team, every team member works collaboratively and often supports multiple departments to ensure the smooth running of operations. The Operations Manager takes a hands-on, visible role in daily service and serves as the central point of coordination across reception, housekeeping, food & beverage, and guest relations.

Given the hotel's significant seasonal variations in occupancy and revenue, effective wage control, cost forecasting, and operational planning are essential. You will be responsible for maintaining high service standards while carefully managing staffing levels and costs throughout the year.

This role reports directly to Head Office and involves working closely with the on-site team to deliver a warm, welcoming guest experience that reflects the character and values of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Presence:

* Lead and manage daily operations across all departments, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures to optimise efficiency and service quality.
* Provide leadership and guidance to department heads, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.

Guest Satisfaction:

* Always strive to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
* Ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction by anticipating and addressing needs promptly.
* Respond to guest feedback and concerns, ensuring swift resolution and satisfaction.
* Collaborate with each department to maintain and elevate service standards.

Financial Management:

* Monitor and manage budgets, costs, and operational efficiency
* Implement cost control measures while maintaining service excellence.
* Work collaboratively with Head Office team to implement strategies for growth and profitability.
* Effectively balance staffing levels with forecasted business demands to maintain profitability while upholding an exceptional guest experience.

Team Development:

* Hire, train, and mentor team members to ensure exceptional service delivery.
* Foster a culture of ongoing learning and career advancement.
* Perform regular performance assessments and offer constructive feedback.
* Promote a collaborative team environment where employees feel confident supporting multiple departments.

Compliance and Safety:

* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
* Maintain accurate records, policies and procedures.
* Maintain a secure environment for guests and staff.

Requirements

* Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role in a hospitality setting.
* Strong leadership skills with a hands-on management style.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
* A good understanding of hotel systems, budgets, and financial reporting.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the hospitality sector.
* Proficient in using hotel management software and MS Office.
* Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends.
