We are seeking a skilled and motivated geo-environmental engineer to join our successful team in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented, professional geologist, with a passion for delivering high-quality consultancy services in the geotechnical, geo-environmental and remediation sectors. You will play a key role in supporting a variety of projects, ranging from small-scale developments to large, multidisciplinary infrastructure schemes.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct geotechnical and geo-environmental site investigations, including desk studies, site supervision, and data collection
2. Prepare technical reports, including Phase 1 Desk Studies, Phase 2 Site Investigations, and interpretative geotechnical and environmental assessments
3. Provide technical advice and solutions to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
4. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget
5. Undertake risk assessments and provide recommendations for remediation strategies where necessary
6. Assist in the preparation of tenders, proposals, and project documentation
Requirements:
7. A degree in Geology/Environmental Science, or a related discipline
8. Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (desirable but not essential)
9. Proven experience in geotechnical and/or geo-environmental engineering
10. Strong knowledge of UK regulations, standards, and environmental guidelines
11. Proficiency in contaminated land interpretive report writing and remediation strategies
12. Eligibility to work in the UK
13. UK driving licence
14. Commutable to Cardiff
Daily Duties:
15. Conducting site visits to supervise investigations and collect samples
16. Analysing soil, rock, and groundwater data to assess site conditions
17. Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to clients and stakeholders
18. Liaising with contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project requirements are met
19. Managing project timelines and budgets effectively
