Job Title: Legal Counsel
Reporting To: Senior Legal Counsel
Location: London – Hybrid, United Kingdom
Salary: £90,000 – £113,000
Role Status: This role requires existing right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available at this time.
What will I be doing?
* Commercial Contracting: Draft, review and negotiate a high volume of commercial contracts, including service agreements, consultancy agreements, NDAs, third‑party supplier agreements and agreements relating to our Flex product offering.
* Legal Operations & Tech: Manage the "Legal Front Door" request‑intake system and drive efficiencies. Lead the scoping and implementation of a full Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
* Template Architecture: Create and maintain a library of legal templates, ensuring all Kaluza documentation is up‑to‑date, legally robust and aligned with our house positions and branding.
* Corporate Governance: Support company‑secretarial matters, including Companies House filings, drafting board and shareholder resolutions and administering the share‑option scheme.
* Advisory & Support: Act as a trusted advisor on ad‑hoc requests across the business, covering a variety of topics. Support the General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel in establishing a robust legal foundation.
About You
* Qualified Solicitor: Must be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
* Experience: Minimum of 2+ years’ post‑qualification experience, primarily in‑house with a technology company or in the commercial department of a leading private‑practice firm.
* Tech & Data Fluency: Strong experience with commercial contracts in software, SaaS or technology‑infrastructure sectors. Solid understanding of corporate law and data protection (GDPR) to provide clear, practical advice across jurisdictions.
* Commercial Mindset: Translate complex legal issues into clear, business‑focused advice that stakeholders can understand and act upon.
* Sharp Skills: Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills with unwavering attention to detail.

* Judgement & Autonomy: Ability to manage a high volume of routine agreements independently, with the judgement to know when to raise complex or high‑risk matters.

* Curiosity: Genuine willingness to build expertise, learn new systems and solve complex challenges.
