The Activities Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and nursing home settings. Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being for residents.
* Assess the interests and abilities of residents to create personalised activity plans.
* Coordinate with staff, families, and volunteers to facilitate successful events and outings.
* Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback to improve future programmes.
* Provide support and encouragement to residents during activities, fostering a sense of community.
* Stay informed about best practices in senior care and incorporate them into programming.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a residential or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
* Background in caregiving is essential, with specific experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care being an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and understanding.
