Role Overview As an Avionic Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical and avionic maintenance tasks on the C130 aircraft in accordance with approved work card instructions and controlled technical documentation. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards, directly contributing to the continued airworthiness and mission capability of the fleet. You will also play an active role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement, supporting efficiency initiatives, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and company procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, modification, and repair activities on aircraft electrical and avionic systems Interpret and work from approved technical data, wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, and work card instructions Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to required quality standards and within agreed timescales Accurately complete maintenance documentation, work cards, and system records to support regulatory compliance Adhere to company procedures including tool control, FOD control, document control, and safe systems of work Support aircraft inspections, fault diagnosis, and rectification activities Work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-skilled team across site functions Promote and comply with Health & Safety requirements, including COSHH and safe working practices Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and operational performance Essential Required Qualifications & Experience Completion of a recognised Approved Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship (Electrical / Avionic) or relevant higher education qualification Proven experience in an aircraft maintenance or aviation engineering environment Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical documentation and wiring schematics Strong attention to detail with a high standard of workmanship Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible approach to work demands Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment GCSEs (or equivalent) in Mathematics and English Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH requirements Desirable Previous experience working on C130 aircraft Experience Within Defence Or Other Highly Regulated Aerospace Environments Additional Information This role offers the opportunity to join a dedicated and professional engineering team supporting mission-critical defence operations.
