School Caretaker - Full-Time (Immediate Start After February Half Term)
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire (with occasional travel to St Albans)
Salary: £23,500 - £33,000+ per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: 23rd February
We are looking to appoint a reliable and practical School Caretaker to join our small alternative provision school in Hatfield, Hertfordshire from 23rd February, immediately after the February half term. This is a full-time role with split shifts available. While the caretaker will not be required to remain on site all day, the position is full-time and plays a vital role in ensuring the school site is safe, secure, and well-maintained.
If all goes well, this role has the potential to become a permanent opportunity for the right person in the next academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
Unlocking and securing the school site at the beginning of the day
Locking up and securing the site at the end of the school day
Ensuring the safety and security of the premises
Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs
Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Monitoring site security and reporting any concerns
Supporting with health and safety checks
Occasional travel to support our other site in St Albans
About You:
Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
Practical and hands-on with basic DIY and maintenance skills
Able to work independently and manage your own workload
Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
Willing to be flexible with working hours (split shifts available)
Full driving licence preferred due to occasional travel between sites
