The Role
Join a prestigious law firm recognised for delivering exceptional legal advice to both businesses and individuals. As the firm continues to grow and expand its services they are seeking an experienced Senior Costs Lawyer, responsible for handling a caseload of complex, high-value matters while providing strategic costs advice and overseeing all areas of costs-related work within the team.
You’ll work closely with the team to stay ahead of legal reforms, ensuring processes and approaches evolve with changes in legislation. Alongside delivering technical excellence and supporting business growth, a key focus of the role is leading, motivating, and developing both your immediate team and the wider Costs group.
You’ll play an important role in shaping the firm’s overall strategy while actively engaging with clients to understand their priorities and deliver tailored support and training. The role will also involve business development activities, helping to strengthen client relationships and identify new opportunities for growth.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experienced Senior Costs Lawyer with a proven ability to manage a caseload of complex cases
* Comprehensive knowledge of costs law and the Civil Procedure Rules
* Demonstrated experience managing strategic litigation, test cases, and group litigation
* Strong track record in handling high-value costs cases
* Skilled in drafting and managing cost budgets
* Able to meet deadlines, prioritise effectively, and manage a varied caseload
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team
* Strong legal insight and leadership skills, with a keen eye for detail
* Excellent organisational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal abilities
