The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation is recruiting seasonal staff to work with our 2026 Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation summer day camp programs. We are looking for enthusiastic Senior Camp Leaders who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and encouraging participants to look up from the screen, engage with their peers, learn and develop, try something new, forge everlasting friendships, all while having huge amounts of fun Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation are summer camp programs located in 21 community centers and 4 schools throughout the City of Fort Worth.
* Attendance and participation at pre-season orientation is required. Orientation will be held June 1st – June 5th
* The 2026 Camp Fort Worth summer program operates June 8th – July 31st. Camp operates between the hours of 7:30a.m. - 6:00 p.m
* The Mobile Recreation summer camp operates from June 8th – July 24th. Camp hours are 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
* Camp Staff must be comfortable and willing to get in the water for any aquatic-related activities or field trips
* The position allows a maximum of 40 hours worked per week (this is a seasonal position and is not eligible for benefits)
Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation summer camp provide a great opportunity to make a positive impact while ensuring the safety and well-being of children ages 5-12. We offer the following:

Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Six (6) months of experience working with youth in recreational, educational, cultural and/or fitness programs
Preferred qualifications:
* 1-year minimum previous coaching or teaching experience
The Senior Camp Leader job responsibilities include:
* Supervise children during various summer day camp activities, including recreation, cultural, and educational programs, arts & crafts, youth sports, structured indoor and outdoor events, and aquatic activities
* Develop and implement weekly lesson plans that meet educational, cultural, and recreational needs through a variety of activities
* Facilitate classes in educational programs, arts & crafts, sports and various recreational activities by using displays and hands-on activities to enhance learning
* Enforce safety standards and departmental policies while ensuring proper disciplinary procedures are followed
* Monitor and verify attendance, schedules, and meal reports to ensure accurate record-keeping
* Support Camp Leaders by assisting with planning, coordinating, and executing daily camp activities, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any needs that arise
* Provide guidance and direction to Camp Leaders in daily activities
* Mentor and support less experienced staff, offering advice and encouragement to help them grow in their roles
* Manage activities and resolve issues when Camp Leaders are unavailable or ask for assistance
* Adhere to assigned work schedules as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensures all behaviors comply with the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations

Depending on the assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
