If so, this could be the role for you The Humber Health Partnership are looking to recruit a Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist for the Vascular and Amputee service based at Hull Royal Infirmary. The post holder will work alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues to support the therapeutic assessment and treatment of patients on the Vascular and Amputee pathways presenting with varying degrees of complexity. As a Senior Occupational Therapist in this speciality you will have direct input into the assessment and treatment of Vascular and Amputee patients both pre- and post-surgery, on the inpatient unit and in patient's own homes. You will deliver evidence based interventions to facilitate recovery, support positive functional outcomes, prevent deconditioning, promote well being and optimise independent functioning; with a focus on facilitating timely and appropriate discharges. Main duties of the job We are seeking applicants with at least 12 months UK experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist, who can demonstrate a sound clinical foundation in practice and demonstrate readiness to make the step up to a Band 6 role within this sought-after clinical speciality You will be expected to be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and build networks to enable appropriate partnerships with other agencies. The post-holder will be expected to deliver services across the acute inpatient unit, in patient's own homes (pre- and post-surgery) and at the Artificial Limb Unit where required. Therefore, there is an essential requirement for applicants to hold a suitable driving licence and/or have a means of independently travelling to community-based sites. You will be self motivated and aspirational, be able to clinically assess in an effective and timely manner within an acute surgical environment. Confidence in enabling patients in personalised care, assessment of wheelchair and other equipment/environmental needs, manual handling, and functional assessment will be enhanced and nurtured within this role Support will be provided to enhance operational management skills and the post holder will be supported to contribute to service planning, development and teaching.
