FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Our client is a London-based special events and experiences studio creating standout projects across the fashion, luxury and lifestyle industries. From global fashion shows and immersive brand experiences to live broadcasts, pop-ups and large-scale events, their work is bold, creative and international.
They are now looking for an experienced Financial Controller to bring clarity, control and commercial insight to the heart of the business.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on role for a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and experience operating at Financial Controller or Head of Finance level. You will own the day-to-day financial operations while acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership, supporting growth and ensuring accuracy, compliance and strong financial controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage daily financial operations, including AP/AR and reconciliations
* Develop and oversee budgets, driving cost control and efficiency
* Prepare core financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
* Process invoices, receipts and payments across UK, Italian and US entities
* Support payroll, expenses, VAT returns and statutory compliance
* Improve internal processes and financial controls
EXPERIENCE & TRAITS
* ACA / ACCA qualified (preferred)
* Proven Financial Controller or Head of Finance experience, ideally in Events or Hospitality
* Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
* Proficient in Xero with excellent Excel skills
* Highly organised, detail-focused and commercially aware
* Confident communicator, comfortable in a fast-paced creative environment
PACKAGE & STRUCTURE
* 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
* Hybrid working: minimum three days in the office
* 6-month probation with quarterly development reviews
* Reporting directly to the Studio Director
