About the role
Connex Education is in partnership with a vibrant Primary School within the Loughborough area to recruit an Arabic-speaking Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis starting ASAP.
You will have strong teamwork skills as the school has a key focus on collaboration to achieve both student and school goals. This school is at the heart of a thriving and creative community, and you will need to meet high standards and match the ambitious expectations of the staff and governors.
A key ethos and aim for this school is to ensure all learners receive focused support to make excellent progress. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils who speak only Arabic, helping them to access learning, develop English language skills, and engage confidently in the classroom environment.
Duties will include general classroom support for all pupils in KS1 and KS2, facilitating learning through play, and running small group interventions for pupils requiring additional help. You will work closely with the Class Teacher to promote the acquisition of learning goals and language development.

Person Specification
8. Must be fluent in Arabic – essential for supporting pupils who speak Arabic as their first language
9. Experience working in an educational environment with children aged 4–11
10. Willing to support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
11. Strong behaviour management skills
12. Knowledge of Phonics and Read Write Inc (desirable)
13. Organised, reliable, and proactive
14. Current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to process a new one
15. Willing to go the extra mile!
